and my dominant qualities are a definite defeat
for the traps society has attempted to set up for me
im a product of freedom and a victim of being a African American Child

the child of an runaway who followed harriet tubman to a promised land
where i'd be free of my masters bullwhip

the child of an soldier who fought civily and paid for my peace
the child of an aviator that soared above expectation of the masses
the child of an writer who painted harlem vividly listened to langston hughes and zora neale hurston

and the child of malcolm x's brotherhood by any means necessary
